Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Garlic and Parmesan

Method

One of the best ways of eating vegetables is roasting them in the oven. I am yet to find a vegetable that I have tried to roast in the oven and haven't liked. There is an absolute simplicity to these oven roasted vegetables and also they are adaptable to suit anybody's taste preferences.

Brussel sprouts aren't always anybody's favorite recipe, and roasting them is a great way to make people like them. It carmelizes them and almost brings out a sweetness to the vegetable. You can use this as a side dish for roasted chicken and it would round off dinner perfectly.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with foil. Place the trimmed and halved bruseel sprouts on the sheet pan and toss with the olive oil, sliced garlic, salt pepper. Stir once or twice during baking until the brussel sprouts are golden brown, about 25 minutes and 30 minutes. Before serving, toss with 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese.

Verdict: The brussel sprouts were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The garlic adds a great depth of flavor and the parmesan cheese adds a nutty buttery flavor. Great recipe to have on hand.
